Life updates!

So in the span of time which i have been absent from this space, i have 

1. Gotten married

2. Applied for BTOs and SBF

3. Successfully gotten our BTO on our third try but alas! It takes 5-6yrs to finish building. I will be an old woman bu then… 

4. Got retrenched, shake legs at home, contract work, and now shaking legs again.

5. Attempted to get pregnant, natural, TCM, IVF and now assisted natural. Have not been successful yet but more on this later. 

That’s all for now. I’m still shaking legs at home, catching up on my dramas, doing some job applications and interviews, etc. Hopefully, i will be able to land a job soon!

Wow! I re-found my blog!

Was looking around at domain names and recalled that eons ago, i had a blog. I had an active social relationship with fellow bloggers and most especially, discovered the cowboy bar and many of the friends i have currently but who no longer blog due to lifestyle changes and the fact that blogging seems pas. 

Nowadays, youngsters are using tiktok, douyin, instagram, amidst other platforms. Many of the more popular ones are called influencers?! Auntie here is now out of touch with all these especially the younger generation. Hahahaha!!

I guess i just wanted to look for a place to voice out some thots which i do not want to use fb to do so. 😌

So i saw this on fb today, reposted by a friend...

And then i saw the comments... 

Rm depreciated, yes. But the cost of their goods went up too. They just neglected to mention that in their disclaimer and some people do not have m y sian friends, obviously... Or speaks to his/her m y sian colleagues. 

Someone also forgot that this is m y s gst and not s g gst. Thus there is NO refund fr the Govt. 

And what has buying a ink cartridge got to do with their financial situation? You can still read the wordings right? Why waste money to buy a new one?! =\ 

I do not know what people are thinking off now... Hiaz... They seem to like to attribute all bad things happening, to a third party or the ruling party... =\ they can't seem to look beyond themselves anymore. Sigh... 

Employment by service or f&b establishments

Sometimes i see articles on the net or papers

People clammoring for organisations to employ more locals and i wondered... Would you work in this position?

Then i saw one asking for a F&B establishment to employ more kind-hearted locals.. Then i wondered.. How do you identify a person as kind-hearted? This is an attribute which cannot be identified during an interview session. 

A person may live with elderly folks but may scream and shout at others.

A person may make donations to charitable organisations, yet look on with scorn at those ah mas or ah pehs selling tissue paper.

There are no fool-proof tests to find such people and anyway, the saying goes "beggers can't be chosers".

With the lack of candidates willing to work shift, for low pay, in such industries, you cannot really chose much. You select what are available.

With locals eschewing such work, more foreigners are needed.

When you go against a foreign labor policy, have you thought of who's gonna serve you at restaurants and who's gonna build houses, clear your pipes, clean your roads, etc. for you?

While chatting with another company  rep during a career fair, he lamented that his company may close their f&b outlet due to lack of manpower. 

I wonder if that is what some people want to see..

But some people are just too lazy

To either read or ignore the portion where the poster says 

"Kindly contact me @ xxxxx for enquiries"

They rather post on the FB to ask the poster to private message them more details or ask for the contact number.

Hello... Read please.... =/ 

I think, if you can't be bothered to read the initial posting or take note of the details or pm the poster directly of your interest, then your chances of adoption will just go down the drain. 

And perhaps, you may want to rethink on adoption if you can't even perform this simple task (of reading the initial posting)

I'm quite irritated by the fact that whenever I apply for Cxxxl  Sxxvxcx jobs, I never get any news from them.

My bro has also always asked me to apply for such jobs as well but he doesn't understand that.... I .. Did....

I just never get any response.

I feel that it is somewhat due to the fact that I do not have a local degree.
I may be wrong of cos... but my years of experience seems to count nothing towards getting that job interview.

They may want only people with experience from there but... then what about the rest of us who wanna get in?

It is so unfair....

Commotion over a Barrier...

Went to Taiwan for the countdown. 

We thought this was some strike or riot going on with lots of police, workers, orange cones, cameras and people around. Especially people whipping out their handphones or cameras to take pictures.

We were definitely puzzled over all these activities going on....

Turns out that they were just going to tear down the middle road barrier which has been there for ages - as told to us by a nice lady. 

And THAT is enough to cause a sensation?! 

Ok lah, maybe I'm suaku.... but I thought it was overly dramatize and too much hoo haa over a barrier.. 

Perhaps it was part of their ancient history, but it can't be overly ancient as road barriers only came up in the what... 50s? 60s? not sure. 

But I couldn't resist taking a photo of it cos of all the commotion. LOL!
