Went to visit the doctor again on Wednesday.
Gonna use a combination of eastern and western medication / methods to cure myself man....
The prescription?
Anti Nausea tablets and lower acid pills to be taken once a day and once a night
And a relaxant tablet to be taken at night
The bill?
SGD$84!!
Omg!! So expensive!!!
It was S$60 for consultation alone and $24 for 30-36 pills/tablets. =/
How did the S$60 for consultation came about?
Have been feeling really pukish with dry lips and white face
Even tried to puke once but nothing came out... sigh...
My dad even went... "go see a specialist please. I will pay for it."
* touched *
Let's try everything else (and the cheaper methods) before we resort to specialist bah.
2.5 mths and ongoing....
Le Sigh...

Cold Satisfaction.....
There's a cold stab of satisfaction in knowing that you are right and the other party is wrong even though the other party will never admit it... oh well...
3 weekends, 7 staff, and it's still ongoing.
*sniggers*
And you thought I was taking a lot of time doing "it" and mark me down cos of "it" even though i was doing "it" amongst my other duties, when I had the spare time to...
Let's see when this complete and how much total time it takes in the end.

Acupuncture - soreness
ongoing pain result in desperate measures.
Thus I embarked on my first trial of Traditional Chinese Medication (TCM)
Visiting the "free" clinic set me back by....
only....
S$6.00!!!
cheap.....
A private clinic would set me back by S$60 to S$100 already.
the dr says that the area around my jaw was slightly swollen
It was more noticable when I lie down...
I have a mild case of thyroids?!?!
Cos I have got shaky hands when I hold them out straight
(But i have got shaky hands my entire life!)
All said, I am weak...
I have a problematic and weak body....
I need to slowly 'cure' it.
Guess weekly visit to the TCM is necessary.
TCM treats the root of the problem and not the symptons
It is prevalent in eastern (aka chinese) culture and have been in existence for thousands of years.
They use a myriad of treatments but most commonly herbs to make medication and very fine thin needles inserted (poked) into your acupoints.
I have got 8 needles inserted into
Surprisingly, there was.....
just...
only...
a little..
pain!!!
It was just a pinprick. Nothing extremely painful or what.
Just a little blood. Not serious.
There was no numbing done, no medication or whatsoever.
I was expecting it to be really painful and was really tense (which may add to the pain level)
But it was not.
And surprisingly
I feel.....
Better!!!
At least, not as sore as before. =D
Happiness!
As long as I do not need to visit a specialist! =P
Need to go visit again this week.

Heat Pads aka 暖暖包
Not sure if the chinese wordings are correct...
Brought heat pads aka 暖暖包 to work for my sore jaws
Heat pads are also good for travelling if you are going to a cold country.
Good for warming your body, feet and hands!
It looks something like this..
And there is an expiry date to it.
Expired heat pads really got a shorter lifespan and are not as warm anymore.
Sigh....
Instead of the 18hrs as stated on the packaging, I think it was lukewarm for like.... 2 hrs?
It was not even hot at all...
Guess the expiry date really works in this case.
Time to take out all my heat pads and check their expiry dates...
Time to stock up more when I go Taiwan again at the end of the year. =D

Jaws Soreness = TMD?
After wearing the acrylic night guard for 3 nights, the jaws.... are still sore... sigh..
And I still feel like puking...
The dentist mentioned that it might be a case of temporomandibular disorder (TMD).
(The acronym sounds abit like Ta Ma De 他妈的 - bad word in chinese... hahaha!! oops! =X )
I read up on that after doing a search on Google.
Accordingly to the link, http://www.webmd.com/oral-health/guide/temporomandibular-disorders?page=2, I am supposed to

- Keep your teeth slightly apart as often as you can to relieve pressure on the jaw. To control clenching or grinding during the day, place your tongue between your teeth.
Horrors!!
I start to drool when I fell asleep
The lucky thing is that I jerked awake when I start to drool
And manage to control the "flow of liquid"
The embarrassment...
the image!!
Omg!!
I think I will stop myself from doing this on public transport liao.
On another note, I have heat packs for my winter trips abroad cos...
- Apply moist heat or cold packs. Apply an ice pack to the side of your face and temple area for about 10 minutes. Do a few simple stretching exercises for your jaw (as instructed by your dentist or physical therapist). After exercising, apply a warm towel or washcloth to the side of your face for about 5 minutes. Perform this routine a few times each day.
Brought one to the office. Shall try that...
And I made a call to a friend who does chinese medication (TCM)
Shall try to make a visit to her to have some acupuncture (1st time omg!) done.
Otherwise, the last resort will be to the specialist (at Raffles Hospital!! omg!! expensive!!) which I'm trying very hard to avoid. hurhur!!

Persistent Jaw Soreness and Nauseousness...
I think I know what is causing my puking on my trip the previous round.
I mean, .... even on normal days, I feel like puking.....
And no, I'm not pregnant....
I think it's because of the jaw soreness.
The soreness is not just at the jaw joint area, but spread towards the top back of the mouth such that every now and then, I feel like gagging...
My dentist, a sweet Dr Grace from Q&M, says that she has never heard of having a nauseous feeling associate with jaw soreness.
Jaw soreness is usually a result of teeth grinding at night.
While many dentists has commented that I seem to have a case of teeth grinding, friends whom I have shared room with, did not say anything about the "noise", if any, from teeth grinding, so I'm abit perplexed at that.
Also, I never had a case of jaw soreness or one as serious as this time round, lasting for months.
So I'm really not sure why it happened and how it happened.
May need to go specialist if this doesn't improve.
Sigh.......
More $$ gone...
I seem to be spending a lot on dental this year....
Jaw soreness = 3 doctor visit, 1 dentist visit = 1 night guard $550+ (gst) = possibly specialist
Crowning = about $1k + (gst) odd for my molar tooth which has cracked
Cleaning .....
sobs!
I only know this soreness occurred after my Sundown Marathon... =/
Is it whiplash? or some injury?
Why is it taking so long to recover?
I think i need an xray or mri to determine the cause of this already.
