First Dive...

The hands go clammy
IBS (irritable Bowel syndrome) started
Feeling of coldness and shivers while above or in the water
The excitement

It never really goes away...

I still feel the tenseness and excitement
I still get the shivers at times

I still need to take the anti-nausea pills

I still need time to equalize...

Overheard on the lorry ride to the site a few years ago....
"Oh! You have 15 dives? That's a lot! Where have you dive at? So experienced!"
And i was just sitting there, silently... amused even... listening to the conversation between 2 foreigners, the only Asian among the group. I was there alone... doing my dives with a foreign guide who seems more excited at seeing a lionfish than me. I started to think.. I'm doing my 30th over dives and I still feel nervous and inexperienced. You can never be that "experienced" or too "experienced" at a sport which depends on your equipment as well as nature.

The guides probably have thousands of dives under their belt....
And accidents still happen...

Never be too assured
Always take the necessary checks
Always remember your first dive
Always take precautions

Must remember to pack my anti-nausea pills for my next trip...
